Walter C. Schneider, age 92, of North Canton, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday in Aultman Hospital. He was born on February 14, 1920 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Walter F. and Eleanor Schneider. Walter was a design engineer / quality control with Superior Switchboard and later with Meter Devices Company. He was a tech sergeant with the Army Air Corp during WW II in the 99th Heavy Bomb Group. Member of the Church of the Savior United Methodist and was also a member of the American Legion, the Purple Heart Club , MAPPS and enjoyed golfing and driving in the country. Preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Mary Emily and by a brother Edward Schneider. Survived by a daughter Holle (Gary) Loar of Winter Haven, FL; sons, Craig Schneider of Monticello, NM, Todd Schneider of Canton and Jay (Esther) Schneider of Massillon, OH; granddaughter Michelle (Keith) Lynn of Midland, VA and nine other grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; sister Edith Schneider of Aurora, CO. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at 11:00 am in the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Edward Fashbaugh and Dr. William R. Harvey officiating. Interment in North Lawn Cemetery.
