Walter E. McGrew, Jr., 96, of Canton, passed away on July 13, 2025. He was born in Fairpoint, Ohio on August 10, 1928 to the late Walter E. and Helen (Twinem) McGrew, Sr.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his infant sister, Katherine McGrew and his step-father, Don Mercier.

Ed is survived by first cousins, Chris Smyth, John Twinem, Sr., and Judy Carrinno.

Ed proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1948-1952.

He was an active member of the Canton Civic Opera, Canton Men's Chorus, and the Buckeye Corvette Club.

Ed worked for Wilkof-Morris Steel Co. where he retired after many years of dedicated service. He was also a proud member of Teamsters Local 92.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 18th, 2025 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Arnold-Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Ave., Canton.

Funeral services will begin at noon at the funeral home and entombment will follow at North Lawn Cemetery.
