Voneda Claire Lensman

November 8, 1943 — June 11, 2026

Uniontown

Voneda C. “Vonnie” Lensman, age 82, of Uniontown, Ohio, surrounded by the love of her family, passed away on June 11, 2026, after battling cancer. Born November 8, 1943, in Urbana, Ohio to Robert Zimmerman and Regena Sanders Tessmer, she embodied strength, generosity, and a deep devotion to those she loved throughout her life.

Vonnie’s life was defined by love, loyalty, and the quiet strength of a woman who gave everything she had to the people she cherished. Her family will carry her spirit forward in every story told, every laugh shared, and every hug given in her honor.

For more than 25 years, Vonnie worked as a bakery manager, where she was known for her work ethic, her creativity, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. She was beloved by coworkers, customers, and anyone lucky enough to cross her path.

Vonnie was also a pioneer in her community, serving as one of the first women to coach a Hartville softball team. She shaped young athletes with her encouragement and unwavering belief in their potential.

She was known for her wonderful hugs, the kind that made you feel safe. She lived for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment.

Vonnie is survived by her children, Lisa Alley, Todd Lensman (Debra), and Nicole Barnes (Landon Lightfoot); her grandchildren, Sydney Taucher (Spencer), Morgan Smith (Eric), Kelsey Lensman, Todd Lensman II (Maria Ballesteros), and Maddie Barnes; and, her great-grandchildren, Wesley and Hudson Taucher.

She also leaves behind her siblings, Marty Bourn, Jo Baugher (Rick), Jon Tessmer (Monica), and George Tessmer (Amy), along with many nieces, nephews, and her loyal dog Tommy.

To some, she was Mom. To a few, she was Mammy. To others, she was Grandma. But to everyone, she was simply Vonnie—warm and unforgettable.

Calling Hours and Funeral services will be held privately for immediate family.

The family is grateful for the love and support of friends and the community and kindly asks that they be kept in your thoughts during this time.
