Vivian Rosengard, age 95, of Canton passed away July 3, 2026. She was born in Chicago on September 27, 1930, to Harry and Adeline (Katz) Brown. In high school Vivian was the international president of B’nai B’rith Girls (BBG) and years later a new Canton, Ohio chapter was named in her honor, Canton Vivian Brown BBG. She attended Roosevelt College in Chicago.
She was married to the love of her life, Herbie, for 57 years. They moved to Canton in 1953, with a short stay in California in between before returning for the rest of their lives in 1963 where Vivian’s life and career flourished. She was a successful realtor for many years winning numerous accolades, while also running the family shopping plaza. Vivian was a consummate businesswoman, who was well respected in the community. She was known for always sending a positive note or cards to friends and family, as well as forwarding newsworthy clippings and coupons (sometimes expired). A voracious reader who surrounded herself with stacks of books, Vivian loved to share her love of reading with family and friends. She loved her daily sudoku and tending to her gardens throughout the years. A member of Temple Israel for over 50 years, she was active in many events. Nothing made Vivian happier than being with family (especially her grandchildren) and friends.
Vivian is preceded in death by her dear husband of 57 years Herbert and brother and sister-in-law Bill and Norma Brown. She is survived by her children Jeff (Barb) Rosengard, Phil (late Melanie) Rosengard, and Nancy Rosengard; grandchildren Amy Rosengard and Eric (Sean Zabik) Rosengard; and an extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday July 7 at Temple Israel in Canton at 11 AM with Rabbi David Komerofsky and Rabbi John Spitzer officiating.
The family would like to thank Dr. Julia Fiiorentino and the staffs of Sanctuary Grande, Absolute Hospice, and CorsoCare Hospice for their consistent compassionate care of their mom.
