Virginia A. Slagle, age 93, passed away Wednesday evening. Born in Bedford, Pennsylvania August 11, 1915 to the late Elmer and Martha (May) Ritenour, she moved to Ohio in 1928. Virginia was married to Howard Slagle December 16, 1940 by Rev. Welshimer at First Christian Church and then repeated their wedding vows December 16, 1990 by Rev. Gary Smith at First Christian Church. She retired from the Hoover Company in the late 1970's. Virginia loved flowers and animals. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard, brother, Ray, Sisters, Mildred Vargo and Hazel Puffinburger and nephew, Blake. Virginia is survived by sister, Nancy Fournier, many nieces and nephews, dear friends Greg Throckmorton and Linda Dillon and her beloved dog, Amy. Funeral service will be Monday, 1:00 p.m. in The Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW with Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery.
