Virginia Y. Allensworth, age 90, of Canton died Thursday evening after a brief illness. A life resident of Canton Virginia attended Miami University and Duke University and had been a school teacher having taught at Belden School. In addition to her parents: John G. and Bessie (Owen) Yost she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Dr. John H. Allensworth in 1998. A member of Church of the Covenant Presbyterian she is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Clifford (Joan V.) Thompson of N. Olmsted, OH and Susan V. Hawkins of N. Canton. Six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Sister: Jane Austin of Alliance, OH and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be on Sunday 1:30 P.M. in Church of the Covenant with Dr. William R. Watt officiating. A private interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in Church on Sunday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Church of the Covenant 3014 Fulton Dr., N.W.
