Obituary

Virgil W. Ringer, age 95, of Hartville and Marlboro, passed away on Friday morning, September 20, 2013. He was born in Louisville on December 27, 1917 to the late Grover and Effie (Gehman) Ringer and graduated from Marlboro High School. He met then married Cora (Ginther) on January 25, 1947. He acquired the Hartville Elevator in 1950, a feed mill and home heating company that was established in 1909 and the business has remained in the Ringer family since that time. He retired in 1980 and with his wife Cora, enjoyed spending winters in Piney Pointe Park in Bradenton, Florida. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Virgil was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, camping and playing cards. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Cora; children Edwin and Margaret Ringer of Hartville, Linda and Charles Grant of Marlboro, Sandy and Denny Baker of Plain Township; Grandchildren Rebecca (Mike) Brandvold, Susan (Dan) Skeggs, Timothy (Nicole) Ringer, Katie Grant, Cory Baker; Great-grandchildren Ryan and Dylan Brandvold, Lydia Skeggs, Sophia Ringer; other relatives and friends. Calling hours are Monday 5-8 PM and an hour prior to services Tuesday 11 AM to noon at Arnold Funeral Home Hartville. Services are Tuesday 12 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Corbett officiating. Final resting place is Marlboro Cemetery.
