Obituary

Virgil F. Hiltner Mr. Hiltner was born to Milton and Ada Hiltner in Coshocton County, Ohio on January 16, 1921. Virgil was a World War II veteran serving with the 13th Army Aircorp as an Aerial Engineer in the South Pacific Theater. He attained the rank of Master Sergeant, and was awarded 7 Bronze Battle Stars. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Harlan. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Mary (Stauffer) whom he married May 21, 1949, and also by 1 brother Ronald (Aileen) of Martinsburg OH, and his sister Vanetta Kline of Brigantine NJ; daughter Peggy of Buena Vista CO, son Eric (Bonnie) of Pickens SC, son John (Barbara) of Bolivar OH, son Thomas (Tuyet) of Santa Cruz CA, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He was a member of the First Evangelical Church, now known as The First Church of the Resurrection where he was the past chairman of the finance committee and the author and founder of The First Church Foundation. He was employed at Superior Dairy as Controller and treasurer, retiring after 35 years of service. Funeral service will be Friday 11:00 A.M. in First Church of the Resurrection 901 East Tuscarawas St. with Dr. Bruce Mont officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service in church on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice 4369 Whipple Ave., N.W. Canton, OH 44718.
