Violet Mae Thomas, age 94, of Hartville, made it all the way Home, on August 30, 2018 at The Pines Nursing Home with loving family by her side. She was born on May 13, 1924 in Powellton, West Virginia to the late Will Ike and Ella Mae (Miller) Hurley. With her husband Marvin Sr., they were called into ministry pastoring 52 years and 5 years evangelizing in West Virginia, Indiana, Kentucky, Arkansas, Ohio, Mississippi. Currently she is a member of Solid Rock Fellowship. Her legacy is that she loved and cared for all people and shared the gospel with everybody. She never met a stranger, loved to sing and adored her family.

She is survived by her children Anna (Bill) Erb of Hartville, Steve Sr. (Chris) Thomas of Camarillo, CA, Pastor Marvin Jr. (Rhonda) Thomas of Hartville, Susie (Joe) Sexson of Royal, AR; and the children of the late Chester and Teresa Anderson: Diane, Karen, Janie and Sam Anderson; grandchildren Bill Jr. (Beth) Erb, Jennifer (Chad) Dutka, Steve Thomas Jr., Stephanie (Jon) Fournell, Duane (Alysha) and Kerry (Sarah) Thomas, Joe Jr. (Naomi) and Kevin (Shelly) Sexson; great-grandchildren Caleb, Gabe, Levi, Elle, Carson, Vanessa, Brittney, Rieanne, Sarah, Natalie, Jenna, Taylor, Alyson, Ryan, Derek, Kaitlynn, Emily, Zack, Krista, Anastasia, Thomas, Abigail and Michael; sister Betty Ann Forman of WV; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by husband Marvin Sr. in 2009; sisters Gladys and Ruth; brothers Paul, Naman, Noah and Pete.

Calling hours are Tuesday 2-4 PM at Solid Rock Fellowship, 10631 Kent Ave., NE Hartville. Funeral services are 4 PM in the church with her son Pastor Marvin Thomas Jr. Officiating.
