Violet M. (Hartenstein-Bracken) Smith, age 86, of Canton, passed away Wednesday morning in Aultman Hospital. Born in Canton to the late William and Rebecca (Barnett) Hartenstein. Violet was a life long resident of Canton retiring from Mercy Hospital in Control Supply. In addition to her parents Violet is preceded in death by her husband Wilbur Smith, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Violet is survived by 3 daughters; Mrs. David (Donna) Froelich of North Canton, Mrs. Timothy (Cynthia) Render of Jackson Township and Mrs. Timothy (Rebecca) Baum of Dalton, Ohio, 2 sons; James E. (Paula) Bracken of Massillon and William E. (Linda) Bracken of Greenville, South Carolina, sister, Ruby H. Scott of Canton, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be Tuesday; 11:00 a.m. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW with Rev. Timothy Hull officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery.
