Vincent Geckler, age 49, passed away unexpectedly following an accident on Monday December 17, 2018. He was born in Canton on November 30, 1969. Vincent graduated from Perry High School in 1988 and was a member of the wrestling team while in school. He was a United States Navy Veteran originally serving at the Great Lakes Training Center and then deployed with the Marines in Iraq where he was nicknamed "Doc" as he saved countless lives in the field. Vincent graduated in 2012 from North Eastern Illinois University where he earned his degree in Instructional Design. He enjoyed spending time outdoors especially hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather Karen (W. Paul) Irwin of Perry Heights; father Kenneth Geckler of Malvern; brother Paul Irwin Jr of Canton; sister Stacey (Anthony) Birone of Louisville; nieces and nephews Chelsea (fiancé Doug Dodson) Geckler, Gavin and Conner Birone; great-nephew Brantley Birone; Brantley's Mother Peyton McKeever; Paternal Grandfather Doy Cottrell.

Calling hours will be Thursday 4-6 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton, Funeral Services will be Friday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Celebrant Kevin O'Brien officiating, final resting place is Rose Hill Cemetery in Massillon. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors.
