Vernita E. McIntosh, age 64, of Canton went home to be with the Lord on Saturday January 5, 2019. She was born in Canton on September 25, 1954 to the late Edward and Geraldine (Mayle) DeCost. She loved working at Harry London's Candies. She met and married Raymond H. McIntosh Jr. on her 16th Birthday and they were married for 46 years. She had a heart of gold, was a strong woman and put family first. She loved to shop and go out to eat with her best friend (cousin) Debbie Cox.

Preceded in death by the love of her life, her rock, her husband Raymond September 9, 2016; siblings Melva, Stevie, Gary, Charlie, Beverly Lyons. She is survived by children Annamarie (Scott) Gotschall, Rebecca (James) Merriner, Catharine (Melissa) McIntosh, Susan (Martin Shapiro) Broad, Keith Broad, Mylinda (Dramane) Pierce; 13 grandchildren James, Victoria, Danielle, Emily and Nathaniel Merriner, Jaida Fildes, Anna, Nadia, Ryla and Keith Broad, Jamia, Carmella, Ameallia and Elaina Pierce; siblings Teresa (Bob) Pickard, Patsy Schultz, Danny (Sheri) DeCost, Twila Helm; siblings-in-law Mary (John) Brinkley and Robert McIntosh; loving dog Gizmo; and other relatives and friends.

A time to be respectful is Thursday 5-8 PM at the calling hours and at the funeral services Friday 11 AM all scheduled at Arnold Funeral Home Canton with Minister John Wright officiating. Final resting place is Sunset Hills Burial Park.
