Verda Jean Leaman, age 86, of North Canton, passed away Monday morning January 16, 2006 in Massillon Community Hospital. She was born April 4, 1919 in Canton to Jason and Grace (Hollowman) McCoy and was a lifetime area resident. Verda was a 1936 graduate of McKinley High School and attended Kent State University. She was an avid reader, loved music and her "McKinley Bulldogs". Preceded in death by husband, Milton F. Leaman in death in 2002; Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Leaman of North Canton; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce E. and Chrisann M. Leaman of North Canton; grandson Nathan Leaman; two sisters, Florence Belden of Sandyville and Dorothy McCoy of North Canton. Funeral services will be Wednesday 12:00 noon at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Richard Scherpenisse officiating.
