Coach Tim Flaherty of Hartville, Ohio, beloved husband of Meredith Flaherty for 46 years, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2024.  Amazing dad to two devoted children: Dennis Kelly (Diana) Flaherty and Katie Flaherty Lynch. Fantastic Papa to eight grandchildren: Sean, Julianne, Abigail, Connor, Jackson, Brian, Liam, and Julia.

Played, coached, and mentored football for 63 years. "88" started for Akron University at tight end for 3 years.  Coached at Akron University for 2 years, then married, and began his high school coaching career.  Tim was an advanced mathematics teacher for 35 years.  Tim also spent 13 years training seeing eye dogs, and currently has two family dogs, Buddy and Max.

Tim is also survived by his sisters Peggy and Jude and brother Tom. Tim has many nieces and nephews, including god-daughters Samantha and Kathy.

We will be celebrating Tim's last "Friday Night Lights" on May 31, 2024, from 3:00-6:00 at Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville, OH. We invite everyone to wear their favorite jersey, uniform, or sports team apparel to honor Tim.
