Thurza Mae Weise, age 81, passed away Saturday evening, December 8, 2007 in Canton, Ohio. She was born November 18, 1926 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Wade and Bessie (Dilmore) Arbaugh. Thurza graduated from Lehman High School, worked in the Engineering Department at the Hoover Company and retired from the Parisian in 1989. She was a member of the Church of the Savior United Methodist since 1936, where she was choir mother and belonged to the Eve-Mary circle. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Jack Arbaugh, sister, Elizabeth Bolender and grandson Michael Early. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Milton F. Weise; daughters and son-in-law, Tamara J. (Jim) Ley of Sarasota, Florida, Lynn E. Brown of Canton, Ohio; grandchildren, Dan (Cari) Dierdorf of Seattle, Washington, Kristen (Leigh) Dierdorf of St. Louis, Missouri, Rebecca Wilson of Canton, Ohio; step-children, Richard S. (Joni) Weise of Statesville, North Carolina, Thomas M. Weise of Perry Township, Barbara R. (Frederic) Engel of Paris, France, Robert B. Weise of Canton, Ohio; step-grandchildren, Idell Marin (Ludovic) of Montpellier, France, Emily Weise of Arlington, Virginia, Beatrice Engel and Celeste Engel of Paris, France; great-grandchildren Brian Wilson, who had a special place in her heart, of Canton, Ohio, Alex Dierdorf, Danica Dierdorf of Seattle, Washington, Jonathan Dierdorf of St. Louis, Missouri, Ben Marin of Montpellier, France, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Church of the Savior United Methodist with Rev. Edward Fashbaugh, II and Rev. George Roberts officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the services 1-2 p.m. Private family entombment will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
