Thomas J. Wheatley, Sr., age 89 of Canton, formerly of Hartville, passed away Thursday November 9, 2006 in Aultman Hospital. Thomas was born October 9, 1917 in Alliance to Joseph and Anna (Fitzpatrick) Wheatley. Mr. Wheatley was a graduate of Alliance High School and retired from Babcock & Wilcox following 31 years of service. He was a WW II Army Veteran, extraordinary sports fan and avid Notre Dame Football fan. He was preceded in death by his wife Hilda in 1985. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas J. Jr. and Rose Anne Wheatley of Hartville; sister, Delores Krabill of Louisville and close friend, Kathleen Liggett of Canton. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Suffield with Father Edward R. Wieczorek celebrant. Interment will be in Mt. Peace Cemetery.
