Thomas Albert "Tommy" McDonald, age 80, of Canton passed away peacefully Thursday evening October 26, 2006 in the comfort of his home with his family by his side. He was born in Minerva, Ohio on June 22, 1926 to the late John T. and Dorothy May (Challis) McDonald. A Navy WW II Veteran, Tom devoted his life to the profession of law enforcement. He was Marshall and Chief of Police for the Village of Hills and Dales for 23 years. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. Preceded in death by his son Warrant Officer Thomas Michael McDonald who was killed while serving in Vietnam; he is survived by his wife Nancy (Romano) McDonald, they married in 1987; daughter, Cindy Airhart of Brewster; step-children, Philip (Vicki) Cessna of MI, Dianna (Don) Sigmon of Akron, Nancy Kiko of SC; grandchildren, Heather (Jim) Gaal, Michael Airhart, Jay and Olivia Cessna, Joanna, Stephanie and Natalie Sigmon, Daniel Kiko, Anthony, Alex and Nicholas Brewster; great-grandson, Brennan Gaal; brother-in-law, Dr. Thomas (Cathy) Romano PHD of Oxford, OH; niece Mariana (Todd) Furney and daughter, Leah Mae. Tom was a humbled patient and with his wife Nancy greatly appreciated all the loving care received by all who helped.
