Thomas L. Harbert, age 73, of Canton, passed away Wednesday March 4, 2015. Tom was born on May 5, 1941 to Harold and Geraldine (Kuepfer) Harbert and was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Tom was a 46 year employee of the Stark County Board of DD, with most of those years at Cohen-Joliat and more recently at Whipple-Dale. He enjoyed collecting fire trucks, listening to polka music and a burger from Wendy's. Preceded in death by his parents and by a niece Veronica Harbert Caldwell. Tom is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Ron and Agnes Harbert of Lincolnton, NC; sister and brother-in-law Pam and Dennis Close of North Canton; nephews Chris Harbert, Kevin and Brian Close; aunt Clementine Bourquin of North Canton; and uncle and aunt Herbert and Betty Kuepfer of Grafton. The family would like to wish a special thank you to the staff and friends of Stark County Board of DD and Avenue to Independence for their help and support throughout the years. And thanks also to neighbor and friend Michael Christman for his friendship and help with work around Tom's house. A memorial mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Rev. G. David Weikart as celebrant.
