Thomas A. Groom, age 73, of North Canton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday January 16, 2012. He was born June 20, 1938 in Canton to the late Emerson and Velma (Snyder) Groom. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Tom retired from The Timken Company, Dept. 59, after 35 years of service. He was a member of The Bible Believers Baptist Church where he printed for the tract ministry. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Joyce; children Michael Groom of North Canton, Lori Anne Harwig of IL, Daniel Groom of Canton, Elizabeth (Rosendo) Hernandez of North Canton; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and siblings Shirley Caldwell of North Canton and Roy Groom of Newcomerstown. Preceded in death by daughter Suzanne, son Benjamin, grandson Jason, and three brothers Harold, Paul and Dick. Calling hours are Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Arnold Funeral Home. Funeral services are Thursday 11 AM at Bible Believers Baptist Church 5360 E. Center Dr. NW, Canton 44721, with Pastor Art Martin officiating. Final resting place is Forest Hill Cemetery.
