Thomas H. Carnes, age 85, of Canton passed away Friday evening in St. Joseph's Care Center. A life resident of Canton, Tom was a Navy Veteran of World War II. A 1941 graduate of McKinley High School, he attended the University of North Carolina and graduated from Kent State University. Tom was retired from advertising sales for WHBC Radio. A member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, he was preceded in death by father, Guy Carnes; mother, Catherine O'Malley; wife, Dorothy; son, Christian and daughter, Lisa. Also by four sisters, Jane King, Dolly Cade, Phyllis Black, and Bernice Carnes and brother, Erwin (Bud) Carnes. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Katie and Dave Thompson of Lakewood, OH and Mandy and Doc Daugherty of North Canton; three grandchildren, Brody, Molly, and Brant and former loving wife, Lois Carnes Hartwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Benson Okpara as officiant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 710 Tuscarawas Street West. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Care Center 2308 Reno Drive Louisville, Ohio 44641.
