Obituary

Thomas A. "Tom" Kuhn, age 83, son of Oliver and Marie Davis Kuhn, was born at home in New Baltimore, Ohio on April 14, 1929. Tom graduated from Marlboro Twp. High School in 1946, received his B.A. degree with a major in geology from the College of Wooster in 1950, and received his M.S. degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1952. Tom worked as a geologist and in management for 34 years for four subsidiary companies of Consolidated Natural Gas Co., retiring as a Senior Vice President of CNG Development Co. in 1986. Tom resided in numerous places throughout his lifetime including New Baltimore and Richfield in OH; Pittsburgh, Gibsonia, and Coraopolis in PA; Bridgeport and Alpine Lake in WV. Since 1987, Tom has lived at Meyers Lake in Canton, Ohio where he served on the Village Council and was a dedicated member of the Meyers Lake Sportsman Club. Tom served as a Deacon and Elder in both the Bakerstown Presbyterian Church and the Richfield United Church of Christ. Since moving to Meyers Lake, he has been a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, humanitarian, fisherman, sports fan and friend. Lovingly remembered for his faith, kindness, generosity, and wit. In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his wife of nearly fifty years, Mary Sue (Austin) Kuhn, and his brother, Richard Oliver Kuhn. Tom is survived by his sister, Mary Moore and brother-in-law, John Moore; daughter, Anne Kuhn Case; sons Richard R.(Patricia) Kuhn, James A.(Susie) Kuhn; grandchildren, Emily (Jason) Augenstein, Matthew (Amanda) Kuhn, Aaron (Becki) Kuhn, Beth Case (Fiancé Steve Barney), Lindsay (Gavin) Blair; great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Isabella, Elizabeth, and Emily May; treasured fishing buddies, Cousin Ron Davis, Chuck Bebout, Jim Sherer, and Glenn Morris. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 31, 2013 in Trinity United Church of Christ. Interment will be in Marlboro Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., N.W.
