Theodore L. "Ted" Beistel, age 78, of Canton died Wednesday in New Bern, NC while visiting his daughter. Born in Buena Vista, PA he was an Army Veteran, was a graduate of Louisville High School and received an accounting degree from Kent State University. Ted was a retired Certified Public Accountant having been a partner with Swallen, Lawhun, Hubbard and Abraham. He was a member of Faith Community Church, past president and former member of Gyro Club of Canton and the Canton Kiwanis Club. Preceded in death by his wife Shirley in 2002 he is survived by a daughter: Mrs. William (Christina) Rivera of NC, two grandsons: Michael & William Rivera. Three great grandchildren: Kayla, William and Sabrina. Brother: Timothy (Janet) Beistel , nieces and nephews and a host of friends. A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Monday in Faith Community Church with Pastor Elden Smith officiating. A private interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
