Thelma F. Mihalik, age 90, of Hartville, Ohio passed away on Monday February 6, 2012 at Bethany Nursing Home in Canton. She was born January 22, 1922 in Sugarcreek, Ohio to the late Daniel W. and Mary C. (Renner) Miller. Before marriage, Thelma worked for the Timken family as a nanny and then graduated beauty school and worked as a beautician in Cleveland. She married Steven Mihalik in 1949 and together they ran a dairy farm in Hartville while raising eight children. Besides being a loving and devoted mother, Thelma enjoyed her farm setting and gardening. She belonged to a monthly card club with the same women for over 50 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in North Canton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Steven, son Patrick, brothers Delbert, Clayton, and Earl; and sister Ruth Lewis. She is survived by sons Tim of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mark (Nina) of San Clemente, California, Michael (Kathy) of North Canton, Gary (Mary) of San Diego, California, Jeff (Barb) of Hartville, Dan (Cathy) of Hartville, and daughter Rebecca (Jim) Franks of Salem. Thelma has 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Calling hours are Sunday 3-5 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home Hartville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church North Canton with Fr. Stephen Zeigler celebrant. Final resting place is Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
