Obituary

Thelma Louise Haas Born on February 14, 1922, our sweet and funny Valentine passed away peacefully on March 27, 2010, at the age of 88. Originally from Marietta, Ohio, Thelma lived in the Canton area most of her adult life. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Arthur Dale Haas, in 1999, and her parents John and Carrie Rumbold, three sisters, Ada (Elmer) Haas, Alberta (Bob) Morris, and Edith (Bob) Franklin, two brothers, Herman Rumbold and Warner Rumbold, and a granddaughter, Heather Louise Haas. A dedicated and hard-working mother and grandmother, Thelma loved her family more than anything. She is survived by her five children: Sheila (Ali) Harp of North Canton, Barbara (Charles) Benfield of Zoar, Larry Haas of East Canton, Joanne Haas of Canton, Arthur (Katie) Haas of Grove City, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A woman of strong faith, she touched the hearts of many with her twinkling blue eyes and compassionate heart. Family will always remember "Mom" and "Grandma" for the songs she sang, the stories she told, and the love and laughter she gave. Visiting hours will be Thursday April 1, 2010, 7-9 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home, 1517 Market Ave. North, Canton and one hour prior to services Friday 10-11 AM. Funeral services will be held Friday April 2, 2010, 11 AM in the funeral home with Mr. Aaron Eagle officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
