Sylvester S. Premier, age 97, of Canton, died Saturday afternoon in his residence. Born in Canton on July 11, 1912 to the late Dominick & Carmella (Granaro) Premavera he was a life resident. Sal was a graduate of McKinley High School and The Ohio State University, and served in the Navy during WW II. He had a career in the restaurant business his entire life and was the former owner and operator of Sylvester's Lounge, the Alibi Lounge, and Premier's. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, AARP, Amvets and the American Legion Post # 44. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Rafael Giachetta, and Carmel Primavera, also by a brother Joseph Premier. Survivors include his wife: Susan of the residence. Son: Sylvester S. Premier, II of Canton, sister: Mary Polsenlli of Cleveland, 3 brothers: William Premavera of California, Anthony Primavera of Canton and Ernest Premier also of Canton. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday 10:00 A.M. St. Peter's Catholic Church with Msgr. John C. Finnegan as officiant. Interment with military honors will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
