Stephan Buryj, age 64, of Canton passed away peacefully in his sleep January 8, 2017. He was born June 6, 1952 in Marburg, Germany. He immigrated to this county with his parents when he was 2 years old. He was a 1971 graduate of McKinley High School. Through his life he had worked in the plastic industry and retired from A. Schulman Company in Akron. During retirement he worked at Altercare of Nobles Pond. Stevie was a simple hardworking man, he was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years Peggy; daughter and son-in-law Angela and James Sokol and grandson Taylor Sokol; brother-in-law Roger Van Netta of Brooksville, FL; niece Katrina Marinari of Wesley Chapel, FL; numerous other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by son Specialist Jesse Ryan Buryj, KIA May 5, 2004; sister Annie Van Netta; parents Michael and Maria Buryj and step-mother Amelia Buryj.

A gathering of friends and relatives will be Friday 4-7 PM at Arnold Funeral Home, Canton.
