Rev. Dr. Stanley I. Partridge On November 13, 2014, Stanley went to be with the Lord and was released from dementia and suffering. He was born in Warren, Ohio, March 25, 1927 to Patricia and Clarence Partridge who are deceased. He was preceded in death by brothers Emerson, Delbert and Ronnie; sisters Florence and Dorothy. Survived by brother Clarence. Also, wife Ruth of 63 years of marriage; sons, Steven (Susan), Dean, Mark (Donna), Rev. John (Patti) and 10 grandchildren. He enlisted in the Navy while a senior in high school, left 6 weeks before graduation and the mothers picked up the diplomas. He served on Manderson Victory Ammunition Ship in the Philippines in WW II. The sister ship was torpedoed by a Japanese sub and not one survivor. He received a diploma from Nyack College (New York), BA from Akron University, MA from Scarritt College (Tennessee), and Ph D from Trinity Theological Seminary (Indiana). He was in ministry 42 years. When in the Akron area, he enjoyed singing in Akron Symphony Chorus 22 years. He served on many boards and agencies with E.U.B. Church and after the merger with the Methodist Church. The one that gave the most satisfaction was the Board of Ministry, helping persons prepare for ministry. He served in the communities where ever they lived, such as, KnHoKo in Holmes County and Cancer Society in Summit County. He dug in an archeology dig in Israel for 2 months and "a find" which is now in the Jerusalem Museum. He served in seven Parishes, was instrumental in seeing a parsonage built in one and church built in another. He loved music, had travelled with the quartet, loved being in the ministry, family gatherings and his family. He was pleased to see all his sons get college degrees. Visitation at Arnold Funeral Home, Hartville, Ohio 4-7 PM Monday. Memorial service at Werner United Methodist Church Tuesday 11 AM with Revs. Ken Price, Chuck Ready, Glenn Taylor and Jim Lawrence participating (visitation 10 AM) and lunch following the service. Private interment at Rittman Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stanley's name may be made to Werner UM Church, 5116 Werner Church Rd., Canton, OH 44721 or (Global Ministries) UMCOR in care of Werner United Methodist Church.
