Spiro A. Pimpas, age 57, of Canton, passed away Thursday evening following a brief illness. Born in Canton to the late James and Polly Pimpas, he was the owner of Spiro's 12th Street Driving Range. Spiro attended Ohio University and was a member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church. He belonged to Jr. GOYA, was an altar boy, played basketball and was a former coach for the church. Spiro was also a member of McKinley Booster Club. He loved golfing and playing cards. Spiro is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Pamela Moore Pimpas; daughters, Erica and Amanda Pimpas; brothers, Nick and Angelo (Mary Jo) Pimpas. Various nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday in St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Dr. Nicholas V. Gamvas officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home, 710 Tuscarawas St., W., and also one hour prior to the service in church.
