Shirley L. Olis, age 75, of Hartville, entered the paradise of God on Tuesday February 8, 2011.She was born on January 29, 1936 in Morgantown, WV to the late Arthur Barton and Thelma Agnes (Bennett) Chaplin. She was a graduate of the Akron Dental Assistant School, worked in the field and during that time served as president of the Akron Dental Assistants Society. As well as a fulltime wife and mother, she worked as a nursing assistant and ran her own cleaning business. She was a member of Tallmadge Church of Christ. She was a fan of and enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Edwin; children Matthew Olis of Hartville, Aaron (Jan) Olis of Marlboro, Shawn (Cheryl) Olis of Akron; grandchildren Brittnee, Tara and Alicia Olis, Sarah Roop; siblings Jean (Jim) Reeder of Ravenna, Susan (Paul) Zurschmit of Akron, Jack Chaplin of NC, Joyce Post of Akron, Linda (Pete) Lopenzina of TN, Nancy (Tim) Jones of NC; many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by brother Jim Chaplin and sister and brother-in-law Patti and Jake Cunningham. Calling hours are Friday 5-8 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home Hartville. Funeral services are Saturday 10 AM in the funeral home with John Miller officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Memorial Gardens.
