Sandra R. (Sickafoose) Gatschet, 82, of Canton, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025.

A lifelong resident of Canton, Sandy was born on October 20, 1943, to George and Anna (Klohs) Sickafoose. After graduating from Timken High School, Sandy worked at Malone College where she met her loving husband, Gary. She left Malone to raise their son Grant and was also a Tupperware manager for more than 15 years.  After her son left for college, she worked at Omni Orthopedics until she and her husband both retired in 2004.

Sandy devoted her life to her family and friends. Sandy, Gary, and Grant had been members of Dueber Methodist Church since 1986, and Sandy often visited elderly members at hospitals and nursing homes. After her husband passed away in 2010, Sandy kept active and enjoyed playing cards with friends, traveling with her son, dining at her favorite local restaurants, listening to Pat Boone records, and watching her vast collection of Hallmark movies.

Preceded in death by her husband, Gary Gatschet; parents, George and Anna Sickafoose; sister, Dorothy Powers, and brother, Robert Sickafoose; she is survived by her loving son, Dr. Grant Gatschet of Canton; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Sandy will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Dueber Church, 645 Dueber Ave. SW, Canton, OH 44706, at 11 am. Family and friends may visit during calling hours immediately preceding the service from 10-11 am and are invited to attend a luncheon at the church following the service.
