Samuel M. Love was born on September 14, 1950, to Lenore and Kenyon Love in Canton, Ohio and died on May 14, 2025. He graduated from Glenwood High School in 1968, was selected to National Honor Society, was an award-winning member of the National Forensic League and was named a National Commended Student by the National Merit company. Sam received a scholarship to Case Western Reserve University where he studied chemical engineering and belonged to the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was married to Pam Rummel Hoffman 1977 - 1982. He was a talented carpenter, contractor, vendor, and salesman. He remodeled homes and stores in northern Ohio. Samuel enjoyed music, fishing, cooking gourmet meals, and attending family gatherings. As a young man, from ages 12-15 Sam was a paper boy for the Canton Repository and proudly delivered around 90 papers each day.
He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his brother, Bill Love (Rose), sister Roberta Shilane (Lewis), nephews and nieces: Joel (Brittany) and Anna Love (Ryan Kozlowski), Philip (Julie), David (Sophia), and Amy Shilane (Brent Phipps) and seven great nieces and nephews. Samuel was dedicated to his family for decades.
Graveside services will be held at North Lawn Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Temple Israel, the American Cancer Society, or plant a tree in Israel through the Jewish National Fund.
