Ruth V. (Glazier) Rippel, age 83, of Canton passed away Thursday, March 23, 2006 in her home following a courageous 22 year battle with Cancer. Ruth was born in New Philadelphia, OH, to the late Charles and Verna Glazier and was a 1940 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. Ruth was Assistant Librarian at the New Philadelphia Library. Moving to Canton in 1952, Ruth volunteered at the Middlebranch School Library then served 4 years as School Secretary at Taft Junior High School. In addition to her parents Ruth was preceded in death by her 10 year old grandson Scott Dimmerling, two sisters and three brothers. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Howard A. Rippel of the residence; Five Children & 4 spouses: David and Susan Rippel of Maryland, Jack and Marie Rippel of Louisville, Rebecca Rippel of Canton, Jill and Roy Dimmerling of Louisville and Janice and Jim Dimmerling of E. Canton. 14 grandchildren: Daniel, Nathan & Christopher Rippel, Bill & Jim McGill, Laura Bibey, Beth Ryan, Michael & Matthew Dimmerling, Jason, Jeremiah, Jennifer, Jessica Rippel and Andrew Dimmerling.. 9 Great Grandchildren: Liam & Noah Rippel, Sarah & Sam McGill, Kyleigh & MacKenna Ryan, Kelsey & Zachary Bibey and Alexis Dimmerling. She is also survived by 2 brothers and one sister. Funeral Service will be Monday 11:00 A.M. in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert P. Sander officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday in the Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW from 1 to 4:00 PM and 1 hour prior to the service in church on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's memory, to Hospice of Stark County 3611 Whipple Ave. NW Canton, Ohio 44718 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
