Ruth Crookston, 76 of Fairlawn passed away on Wednesday August 28, 2024, after a good life.

She was born on December 21, 1947, to Raymond and Bonnie Davis, graduated from Coventry High School in 1965, and worked at the Barberton office of Firestone Bank/ Bank One/ Chase until her retirement in 2002. She met her husband Mike when they were teenagers and got married in 1967. They have two daughters Judy (Dave) Bearer and Karen (Tom) Gehring and four of the best grandchildren anyone could ask for, Lauren Gehring (fiancé Bradley Manuel), Matthew Bearer, Ben Gehring (fiancée Michayla Sweeney), and Melissa Bearer.

We are eternally grateful for each and every one of the staff members at Arden Courts of Bath who became like family to us over the past 3 months. Words cannot express our gratitude, and in fact it was for the lack of words that you came into our lives. Her disease gradually took her ability to speak, but it blessed us with her desire to hug everyone she laid eyes on and made them feel special and loved. We are in awe of the support and timing of one special nurse from Cleveland Clinic Hospice who somehow showed up at all the right times. And to everyone who has been here for her and for us all of the times in between, we send love and hugs.

Our family will be having a private ceremony at Greenlawn Cemetery.
