Russell E. Peterson, Jr., age 77, of Canton, passed away on Wednesday December 12, 2018 in the comfort of his home. He was born on February 14, 1941 in Canton to the late Russell E. Sr. and Betty J. (Larry) Peterson and graduated from Glenwood High School. As a dedicated Army Veteran, Pete continued to serve his country by his continued devotion to the American Flag. He retired from Dover Elevator after many years of service. Pete loved to live and looked forward to what the next day had to offer.

Preceded in death by his brother Rodney E. Peterson; brother-in-law Paul W. Bair Jr. He is survived by sister Darleen J. Bair; sister-in-law Linda (Marty) Fraga; nieces and nephews Rachel (John) Higginbotham and Russell III (Dana) Peterson, Christopher, Brian and Mitchell; great-nieces and nephews Matthew, Lizzy and Kellsi Higginbotham, Allie and Remi Peterson; special friends Mel and Sue McClung, Missy and Skylar Zucal; and his very best furry friend, Little Girl.

He will be laid to rest with Military Honors at North Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 44 or Shriner's.
