Russell H. Boyer, Jr., 60, of Canton, beloved husband, father, son and grandfather, died suddenly Thursday evening. A lifelong resident of Canton, Russ graduated from Glenwood High School in 1967 and received his Bachelor's Degree in Finance from Kent State University. He was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where he served on church council and was active with Leadership of Stark County. Most recently he worked as a Strategic Pricing Manager at Paladin Heavy Construction, but he spent the first 30 years of his professional career with the Hoover Co., where he enjoyed numerous successes and advancements. Russ was an avid golfer, racquetball player, athlete and rock & roll fan. Preceded in death by his father: Russell, Sr. Russ's greatest accomplishment was in the happiness and love of his family and his 37 years of marriage to Lisa. He was truly a family man and wanted nothing more than to spend every moment with them. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife: Elizabeth Ann (Lisa) Boyer of the residence. Sons: Russell H. Boyer, III, Glenn R. Boyer, daughter-in-law: Lauren Boyer, grand daughter: Hannah M. Boyer, mother: Audrey Boyer and sister: Lynda Coppinni. A memorial service to celebrate Russ's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Pastor Dennis Engler officiating. A private interment will take place for the family. Friends may call on Sunday from 1-4 P.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., NW.
