Russell Baker, 95, of Canton, Ohio passed away December 24th, 2016. Russell was employed by Weber Dental Manufacturing Company for 42 years. He found enjoyment coaching youth soccer and basketball teams for Canton Country Day, The Canton Jewish Community Center and Canton City Schools. After retirement from Weber Dental, Russell worked for Canton City Schools and did what he loved, which was impacting childrens' lives.
Russell attended McKinley High School and remained a season ticket holder for over 50 years. He was an active member of the Canton McKinley Adult Booster Club.
Married to his best friend for over 69 years, Esther (Goodrich) Baker, the Bakers were blessed with a daughter, Gerry (Baker) Cindea, who still resides in Canton with her husband Earl. Russell's life is also celebrated by his three granddaughters, Holly (Scott) Bantum, Kym (Eric) Steager, and Tami (Chris) Bongiorni. He is loved by his eight great-grandchildren, Parker, Corinne, Kelsey Rebecca, Kelsey Lynn, Keegan, Ava, Kenzie, and Andrew.
A private service was held on December 29th. In lieu of cards and flowers, donations can be made to The Bulldog 100, benefitting Canton McKinley Athletics.
