IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruby
Coblentz
April 30, 1930 – November 9, 2012
Ruby Coblentz, age 82, of Hartville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, November 9, 2012. She was born on April 30, 1930, in North Webster, Indiana, to the late Homer and Nancy (Bontrager) Yoder. Ruby was a member of Bethany Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. At only 4 feet, 10 inches, Ruby was known as a petite woman, but full of energy and humor, and a giant in her faith. With the premature death of her beloved husband, Alvin, Ruby became a widow at 39 years old with six children, and despite a frequent array of financial and health challenges, she never lost sight of her faith in God's providence, a trait she passed on to her children. In recent decades, her greatest delight was the arrival of each new grandchild and great-grandchild. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her 6 children Rose (Daniel) Eby of Hartville, John (Barb) Coblentz of Guys Mills, PA, Debbie (Galen) Overholt of Columbus, NC, Ruthie (Myrrl) Byler of Harrisonburg, VA, Laban (Angeline) Coblentz of Troy, NY, and Rhonda Troyer of Conroe, TX; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; siblings Rosa (Elton) Moshier, Harold (Sylvia) Yoder, Mary Hilmer, Verda (Robert) Miller, Dale (Martha) Yoder and Jerry (Linda) Yoder. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin S. Coblentz, in 1969; siblings Ada Sommers, Elizabeth, Paul, David and Ruthie Yoder. Calling hours are Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Bethany Mennonite Church and an hour prior to services Monday. Funeral services are Monday at 10 AM in the church with Pastor Dave Slabaugh officiating. Final resting place is Walnut Grove Cemetery.
