Ruby Mae Bair, age 90, of Canton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday October 27, 2021. She was born in Louisville on May 17, 1931 to the late Arthur and Katherine (Schaefer) Kandel. She graduated from Middlebranch High School, trained in stenography and bookkeeping and upon graduation was employed as a secretary at the Hoover Company. She married Ronald M. Bair of Middlebranch, Ohio June 7, 1951. They worked and farmed for over 70 years. Ruby worked as a secretary for the Hartville United Church of Christ, Walsh College, and others. She and her husband are long time members of St. Jacobs Community Church in Cairo where she was treasurer for many years. She devoted her time and services to the churches that she attended over the years and was well loved by family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Ruby is survived by her husband of 70 years Ronald; son Jeff; daughter Susan Nichols; grandchildren Brittany (Bret) Burch, Brandon (Shelby) Nichols; great-grandchildren Anavey, Nevaeh, Madilyn, Brody and Brianna. Preceded in death by son-in-law Gary Nichols; 2 brothers Virgil and Paul Kandel; and 3 sisters Helen Sweany, Freida Thrash and Corrine Byder.

Calling hours are Saturday 1-2 PM and services begin Saturday at 2 PM at Arnold Shriver Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW, Canton with Pastor Doug Hisey officiating. Final Resting Place is St. Jacob's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jacob's Community Church.
