Rossetta Alpiner Wilkof, age 89 devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died on January 20, 2017. Born in 1927 to Harry and Evelyn Alpiner of Massillon, Rossetta graduated from Washington High School and in 1945 married Raymond Wilkof. An inseparable pair, they enjoyed 69 years of marriage until his death in 2014. They raised three children, Jeffrey (Cindi) of Canton, Marcia of Philadelphia, and Sam (Susan) of Canton. She was especially proud of her three grandsons, Jonathan (Kristin) of North Canton, Michael of Akron, and Evan (Kaylee) of Athens, Ohio and grandchildren Heather and Jason Lutton of Canton, and great-grandchildren Teva, Noam, and Raya Wilkof, and Cailee and Jay Lutton Jr. Rossetta is also survived by her brother Jerome (Vickie) of Denver, sister-in-law, Estelle (Wilkof) Blau and many nieces and nephews.

Rossetta loved her role as wife and homemaker. She was an excellent cook and baker and experienced great joy in entertaining their large, extended family. Also interested in many cultural organizations, Rossetta was a docent at the Canton Museum of Art, a member of the Canton Quilters Guild and especially devoted to the Jewish community through Shaaray Torah Synagogue and Hadassah. She and Raymond were longtime patrons of the Canton Museum of Art, the Canton Symphony Orchestra and the Wilderness Center. They enjoyed traveling and power boating and spent many summers on their boat on Lake Erie. Their love and devotion to each other was a model for all.

The family extends thanks to The Windsor Medical Center and Crossroads Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care.

The funeral will be held on Monday, January 23rd at 12:00 noon at Shaaray Torah Synagogue, 432-30th St NW, Canton. The family will be receiving friends and relatives at Shaaray Torah that evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Arnold Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Shaaray Torah Synagogue or The Canton Museum of Art. May Rossetta Wilkof's memory be for a blessing.
