Rose Weiss, age 86, of New Philadelphia, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia, Ohio. Born on May 22, 1928 in Canton to the late Harry and Anna (Benjamin) Refkin, she graduated from Timken Vocational High School in 1946 then moved to the Dover area in 1957 after marrying her husband Richard. Rose worked for the Golden Age Distributors in the late forties and early fifties and had also worked for Miller's Clothing, Dr. Carlos Torrent and Dr. Meena Patel. Rose was a member of Shaaray Torah Synagogue. Preceded in death by her husband Richard in 1991 and by two brothers Leo Refkin and Ralph Refkin. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Ed Singhaus of New Philadelphia; son and daughter-in-law Craig and Karen Weiss of Green; grandchildren Eric and Lauren Jo Singhaus and Jared and Jack Weiss; and two special nieces Harline Goldberg of Skokie, IL and Karen Refkin of Los Angeles, CA. Services will be held on Wednesday 11:00 a.m. in the Arnold Funeral Home, Canton with Cantor Bruce Braun officiating. Interment in Canton Hebrew Cemetery.
