Rose Van Til de Graaf, age 73, of Canton died Thursday afternoon in Aultman Hospital. Born in Port Arthur, TX to the late Reimer & Tess (Renkema) Van Til, she resided here since 1991. A retired school teacher, Rose was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church where she had served as a Deacon and was a Stephen's Minister. Rose was also a member and past president of the following organizations: McDowell Music Club, Symphony League of Canton, Canton Fine Arts Associates, Inc. and Walsh University Women's Committee. She was a founder of Stark County Arts Advocacy Council, was active with the Ohio Arts Council, was on the Symphony Board and was founder of the "For the Kids" Scholarship Fund of the Canton Youth Symphony. Rose is survived by her husband of fifty-one years: Lee de Graaf of Canton. Daughters: Rebecca de Graaf of Columbia, MO and Susan de Graaf of Columbus, OH. Son: Larry de Graaf of Durham, NC. Four grandchildren: Tessa Rose, Ben, Ariel and Dirk Wyatt. Brother: Bernie Van Til of Des Moines, IA. A memorial service celebrating Rose's life will be held this Sunday 4:30 P.M. in Christ Presbyterian Church, 530 Tuscarawas St. W. The family will receive friends in the church following the service. It was Rose's wish that contributions in lieu of flowers PLEASE be made in her memory to "For the Kids" c/o Canton Youth Symphony 1001 Market Ave., N. Canton, Ohio 44702.
