Rose E. Asael, age 82, of Canton, passed away at Mercy Medical Center on Tuesday, July 10, 2007. She was born on August 31, 1924 in Canton, the daughter of Mary and Hymen Garfinkle. She was a 1942 graduate of McKinley High School, where she was active in many school activities. She was retired from the Stark County Title Department where she was employed for over 20 years. Rose was a member of the Agudas Achim Congregation, where she was a lifetime member, the Canton Jewish Community Center where she also belonged to the Senior Adult Group. Throughout the years, she was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and the Agudas Achim Congregation Sisterhood. She was an avid bowler, and bowled in several leagues. Rose is survived by her husband of 58 years Jack Asael of the home, a daughter, Sandra P. Asael, of Canton, brother, Jack (Elaine) Garfinkle of Canton, niece Marcia Garfinkle of Canton, two other nieces, Elaine Klier of Florida, Marlene Fineman of Florida, nephew, Sam DeMayo of Florida, and sister-in-law, Betty (Asael) DeMayo of Florida, very good friend, Helen Dewey who helped along with her daughter, Sandra to care for her during her last illness. She was pre-deceased by her parents; Mary and Hymen Garfinkle, son, Mark Asael on September 20, 1965, her brother Lt. Max Garfinkle, United States Navy, passed away on September 2, 1944, in the Solomon Islands, South Pacific during World War II. Graveside services will be held on Thursday (TODAY), July 12, 2007 at 11:00 AM in Canton Hebrew Cemetery with Rabbi Moshe Sonnenschein officiating.
