Roman Wagler, age 94, of Hartville, OH, surrounded by his family, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 25, 2025, after a period of declining health. He was born January 12, 1931, to Harvey and Susanna (Wagler) Wagler, at Montgomery, IN. On February 17, 1952, he married Mary Overholt, enjoying 73 years of married life. At the age of 22, he was ordained to the ministry, at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church in Hartville, of which he was a member at his death.

Preceeding him in death, besides his parents; were two sisters, Keturah (Dan) Miller, and Laura (Sam) Schrock; six brothers; Vernon, Joel, Eli, Ben, Elmer, and Raymond; and two great grandsons, Kendrian and Kyrell Stoltzfus. Surviving, in addition to his wife Mary, are nine children, Joyce (Simon) Stoltzfus, Taylorsville, NC, Thomas (Judy), Hartville, Mark (Rose), Hartville, Donald (Ellen), Hartville, Ronald (Kathryn) Cross Hill, SC, James (Ruth), Hartville, Timothy (Grace), Alliance, OH, Julia (David) Miller, Hartville, Juanita (Steve) Miller, Meadville, PA, 40 grandchildren, 117 great-grandchildren, sister Esther Gingerich, and sister-in-laws, Mary Catherine (Joel) Wagler, Bonnie (Elmer) Wagler, and Geneva (Ben) Armes.

Dad was a jack of all trades, loved to grill, and up until his later years, the children and grandchildren could expect a call on their birthdays. He still had a ready sense of humor the last few months of his life and had a deep concern for the spiritual well-being of his children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and the funeral Friday, February 28, 2025, at 10:00, all at the Bethany Mennonite Church, at 3497 Edison St NE, Hartville, OH 44632. Interment will follow at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church, 1708 Market Ave N, Uniontown, OH 44685.
