Roma Long Spreadbury, age 85, of Canton died Sunday morning in Aultman Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Carrollton, OH October 3, 1922 to the late Ben and Eva (Smith) Miller. Roma attended Heidelberg College, lived in Bethel, PA for 20 years and moved back to Canton in 1968. Roma worked in sales with Deubles from 1968 to 1971 and then with Diebold from 1971 to 1973 and retired as executive secretary from the YMCA where she was employed from 1973 until her retirement in 1983. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jack William Spreadbury in 1973. Also preceded by siblings: David Benjamin Miller, Beneva Kiesling and Otmar Miller. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law: Mark and Marla Spreadbury. Daughter and son-in-law: Roma Heinlein and David Ranthum. Grandchildren: David Robert Ranthum, Julie and Chris Fisher, Greg Spreadbury and Nichole Baker. Great grandchildren: Leah Ashley Fisher, Audrey Hope Fisher, Sienna Nichole Spreadbury. Nieces: Amelia (Gary) Rowland, and Nancy (Joe) Hoot. Nephew: Charles (Mary Ann) Kiesling. Memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 11th in St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Rev. Barbara Bond officiating. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service in the church. Graveside service will be Monday 10:00 A.M. in Warstler Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church 425 Cleveland Ave. S.W. Canton, OH 44702. Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
