Roger P. Ortiz, age 70, of Wadsworth, went to be with his lord on Sunday June 3, 2018. He was born in Holly, CO on September 7, 1947 to the late Percy and Rosa (Pichardo) Ortiz, served in the Army 173rd Airborne Division, was a Vietnam War Veteran and Bronze Star recipient. He was a manager at Household Finance, a business lease manager at Rick Case Honda and Motor Cars, and was a designer and sales representative at Ohio Wholesale. He was an enthusiastic sports fan and had a passion to mentor and teach young people the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was particularly devoted to his grandchildren. He enjoyed many activities with them, including playing ball, attending their sporting events and going to the NASCAR races, where he camped overnight with his son and grandkids.

He is survived by his wife Glenna (Hilton); children Kenny Dye, Laura (Leon) Palevich, Chris (Kim) Ortiz; grandchildren Leon, Craig (Tristan), Amber, Brandon and Daniel (Tasha) Palevich, McKenzie, Mason, Mallory and Mitchell Ortiz and numerous great-grandchildren; siblings John (Lillian), Marcy (Madeline), Cecilia Ortiz.

Preceded in death by son Bradley Ortiz; siblings Victoria Abitia, Connie Anderson, Louise Galloway.

Calling hours are Monday 2-4PM & 6-8PM at Roger's home church, High Mill Church of the Resurrection, 1920 Schneider St., NE, Canton. Funeral services are Tuesday 11AM in the church with Pastors Chuck and Noah Schumacher officiating. Final resting place will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made directly to the family.
