Rocco Scalia, age 56, of Canton, passed away Thursday, June 23rd in Mercy Medical Center. Rocco was born April 26, 1960 in Carrei, Italy to the late Guiseppe & Maria (Perri) Scalia. He was a loving brother and son with a "heart of gold." He was employed by Park Farms for over 15 years until his health would not allow. Rocco was a diehard Browns fan and loved to fish. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his long time companion, Janet Porco. Rocco is survived by his brothers, John (Lucretia) Scalia and Angelo (Nikki) Scalia; sister, Antoinette Scalia; and nephew, Ryan Scalia who helped care for him in later years; several nephews, nieces, friends and the Porco family. Rocco also had a special place in his heart for Mikey and Parker Owens who often spent time with him. Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Monday in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 710 Tuscarawas St. W. with Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Interment will be private.
