Robert "Red" Wright, age 71, of Canton, passed away Saturday February 17, 2007 in Aultman Hospital. Born on February 20, 1935 in Everton, WV to the late Merriman A and Elsie L. (Mann) Wright, he went to school in Mt. Hope, WV. Red's greatest hobby was softball which he enjoyed coaching. Preceded in death by brothers, Merriman Jr and Charles Wright; he is survived by his longtime companion, Annie Miles; sons, Robert Allen of OH, Robert Knight of VA, Douglas Miles of OH, Lugenia Pennel of WV; sister, Carolyn Cheese of Glen Jean, WV; the children he helped raise, Monica, Paul and Tasha Miles of Canton; 13 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter; nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday 7:00 PM at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Dwayne Brown officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services in the church Wed. (6-7 PM) He will be laid to rest on Sunday in Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Beckley,WV following services at United Missionary Baptist Church in Mt Hope.
