Robert J. Russell, age 82, of North Canton died Wednesday in Aultman Hospital after an extended illness. Born in Canton to the late William Clayton and Ellen T. (Thiessen) Russell, he was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and retired from the Ford Motor Co. in 1988 after 43 years of service. Bob was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ a 50 year member of William McKinley Lodge # 431 F & AM and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Ford Retirees. Bob was an avid sportsman, loved the Indians, gardening, bowling and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 52 years: Sydna (Hennessey) Russell of the home. Daughter: Mrs. Michael (Michelle) Conkle of Jackson Twp. 2 sons: Robert J. (Laura) Russell of Greentown, OH and Marc Russell of the residence. Three grandchildren: Tami Talalas, Amanda and Jonathan Conkle. Sister: Jane Brugger of Dundee and a brother: Richard Russell of Perry Twp. Funeral service will be Saturday 11:00 A.M. in the Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., N.W. with Rev. Stephen Gifford officiating. Interment will be in Henry Warstler Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday (tonight) from 6 to 8 P.M. A Masonic service will be tonight at 5:45 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to MRDD 2950 Whipple Ave., N.W. Canton, OH 44708.
