Robert P. Rucker, age 86, of Canton, passed away Saturday morning in Manor Care Nursing Home. Born in Lima, Ohio to the late Frederick and Vesta (Franklin) Rucker. Robert was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, a retired Civil Engineer and owner of Rucker Construction, Inc. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Belva; his brother, Frederick; and three sisters, Helen, Virginia, and Jeanette. He is survived by a daughter; Mary (Harry) Westerman of North Canton, and four sons: Michael (Heather Wilson) Rucker of Pittsburgh, PA, David (Denise) Rucktaschel of Uniontown, Ohio, Andy Rucker of Canton and William Rucker of Canton; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11th in Christ Presbyterian Church (530 Tuscarawas St. W., Canton, Ohio 44702) with Pastor Wendy Bausman officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home, 710 Tuscarawas St. W. and one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
