Robert S. Rownd, age 85 of North Canton, passed away on March 30, 2024, which was his birthday. He was born March 30, 1939, in Canton to Wilson and Margaret (Hawkins) Rownd and is a graduate of McKinley High School, where he was an All-American Swimmer and attended Grove City College. Bob spent his career as a Financial Planner with his firm New Market Financial Group. He was also known for his extensive volunteer work with the Boy Scouts of America, where he earned the Silver Buffalo Award. He was a volunteer firefighter, active in the Lion's Club, served as President of the Board of the former Timken-Mercy Hospital. Bob had served on the consistory board of the Trinity United Church of Christ and has recently been a member of Church of the Lakes.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Gail; children Charlie (Carol) Rownd, David (Theresa) Rownd, and Roberta Rownd; grandchildren Kate (Christian), Kelly, John, Emily, Caroline, Hana, Robert; great grandchildren Lucy and Nate. Preceded in death by daughter Lora Rownd.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 12-1 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home at 1517 Market Ave N. Funeral services will be in the funeral home at 1 PM with Pastor Brian George officiating. Final resting place is North Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Buckeye Council, 2310 13th Street. NW.
